VW ID Buzz electric van starting at $57,220 in Germany

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced that prices for the ID Buzz electric van will start at €54,430 ($57,220) in Germany for the Cargo version and €64,581 ($67,891) for the five-passenger Pro version.

Orders will open on Friday for the Buzz, with retro styling reminiscent of the original air-cooled rear-engined VW Kombi (or Microbus).

The first vehicles will be delivered in the fall, VW said in a press release on Wednesday.

US deliveries they are scheduled to start in early 2024.

The automaker says that with an environmental discount, the base price of the Cargo is €46,455 and the Pro is €56,606 in Germany.

Other European countries, including France, offer similar incentives for electric vehicles.

The Cargo version has side panels, two or three front seats, and fewer standard features than the Pro variant.

Options for the Pro include wheel sizes up to 21 inches and various packages that add infotainment, comfort, driver-assist and entry/exit features (illuminated door handles, tailgate and power doors). There are eleven colors available.

Similar packages are available in the cargo version, but more focused on utility.
