Victoria: Police release picture of man they want to speak to in connection with 2007 sexual assault

Police are asking members of the public to help identify a man they wish to speak with about a disgusting assault on a teenage boy 15 years ago.

Police are asking members of the public to help them locate a man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl in the Victoria region nearly 15 years ago.

The “solvable” case has received new information about the 2007 attack, which took place in the town of Moe, in eastern Victoria.

The 19-year-old woman, now 30, was in a parking lot on Lloyd St in the city center in the early hours of September 9 when the man approached her.

Police allege the man, in his 20s at the time, offered to walk the woman home before sexually assaulting her on Moore St.

At the time of the alleged attack, the man was described as being 165-175cm tall, with a tan complexion, dark hair and a possible undercut.

Police believe the man, now in his 30s or 40s, lived in Trafalgar and was driving a Ford Falcon.

In an attempt to solve the case, a computer-generated image of a man from 2007 that police want to speak to has been released.

“Police believe this incident is solvable,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

Anyone with information about the incident, or who thinks they know who the man in the photo may be, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
