“Mad Max: Fury Road” filmmaker George Miller will finally return shortly with the fantasy-romance drama “Three Thousand Years Of Longing.”
Ahead of the Cannes premiere, the first footage was released today promoting the release of the first trailer next Friday.
The $60 million budget film revolves around a meeting in an Istanbul hotel room between a scholar (Tilda Swinton) and a djinn (Idris Elba) who offers her three wishes in exchange for her freedom.
Their conversation leads to consequences that neither would have expected. MGM will release the R-rated film later this year.
Miller is currently working on the ‘Fury Road’ prequel, “Furiosa,” and recently told Deadline that the film’s story is a saga that takes place over a 15-year period rather than the three-day period in the that ‘Fury Road’ was developed.
