Sirens sound in Israel to honor Holocaust victims

Sirens have sounded throughout Israel to pay tribute to the millions killed during the Holocaust.

Streets came to a standstill as pedestrians and drivers stopped to mark the memorial day, which is celebrated every year.

A remembrance ceremony was also held at Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust memorial center, to commemorate the six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis during World War II.
