Sirens resound in Haifa on Holocaust Remembrance Day

Israelis paused for two minutes of silence as sirens sounded in Haifa for Holocaust Remembrance Day, or Yom HaShoah, on April 28. Images taken by Lekë Rezniqi show traffic stopped with drivers standing outside their vehicles on Khorev Street in Haifa. Pedestrians are also seen standing quietly along the road as the siren sounds. Local media said the ceremonies would take place in schools, public institutions and military bases on Thursday. The annual March for Life would resume after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. Credit: Lekë Rezniqi via Storyful
