Powerball jackpot grows to $59 million

Saturday night’s Powerball drawing did not feature a grand winner of the estimated $51.7 million jackpot with a $29.7 million cash option.

The next drawing, which will take place on Monday, will see the jackpot grow to an estimated $59 million with a cash value of $33.9 million.

The winning lottery numbers drawn on Saturday May 7 were 4, 5, 6, 28, 67 with a red Powerball of 10. The Power Play was 2X.

There were no grand prize winners after the last draw, but there was an instant millionaire. A player from Georgia hit Match 5 and won $1 million.

If the player had matched all five numbers with a Power Play, they would have won $2 million.

There were 12 people who matched Match 4 plus the red Powerball and won $50,000 each. Meanwhile, eight players were able to match the Match 4 plus red Powerball with a Power Play and each won $100,000.

The rest of the evening’s monetary winnings ranged from $4 to $200. A total of 496,058 players won Saturday night’s jackpot prizes.

The latest drawing comes after a group of eight North Carolina FedEx workers won a $2 million prize. The group of winners, who claimed the money as The Purple 8, have been playing the lottery together for about three years.

After winning the $2 million drawing prize on Monday, April 25, the group took home $177,525 each after required federal and state tax withholdings.

Grand prize winners must match all six numbers on their ticket with the drawn combination of six numbers. Five numbers from 1 to 69 must be selected for the white balls, and one number from 1 to 26 is selected for the red Powerball.

There is a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning the Powerball jackpot.
