David Alvares of Hoskins Maroondah said the house transported visitors from Melbourne the moment they turned into the driveway.

“It feels like I’m away from the world and in a Balinese resort,” Alvares said.

“And it basically has everything you can imagine.”

The home’s resort-style vibe is front and center in almost every room, with priority pool views as part of architect John Rast’s concept for the property.

“I wanted it to feel big and for everyone to have their own separate space,” Alvares said.

The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and private bath, and is zoned into its own front-of-house space along with a formal living room, home theater, and study.

Three more bedrooms located at the other end of the house each have their own bathroom and two have access to a terrace that leads to the pool.

An open-plan living room and dining room join a spacious kitchen showcasing a butler’s pantry and Miele appliances.

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open to connect the interior entertaining spaces to an outdoors that features a full outdoor kitchen with heat, bar-style refrigerators, and a built-in grill.

Extensive landscaped gardens surround the pool, joined by other lifestyle winners including a spa in its own pavilion and tennis court.

With a 28kW solar panel array connected to a solar battery, the house also has low power consumption.

Close to a mix of public and private schools and shops, the home is also just a short drive from the Yarra Valley wineries.
