Police arrest suspected drunk driver after crash in northwest Calgary

Police closed off a section of 14th Street NW for much of Sunday morning

Police have arrested one person and two people were hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries after an early morning crash in northwest Calgary.

Calgary police say officers responded to reports of a head-on collision involving two vehicles along 14th Street NW between Kensington Road and Memorial Drive around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Two people were injured and taken to hospital. Police say they arrested one of the drivers at the scene and charges of driving while intoxicated are pending.

Police investigating the crash blocked off a section of 14th Street in both directions for much of the morning and reopened the road just before 9 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
