Police received a 911 call at noon saying the truck had struck the pedestrian on de Lorimier Ave. at de Maisonneuve Blvd. E., said Montreal police spokeswoman Mariane Allaire Morin.

An ambulance crew transported the victim to a hospital. The truck driver was uninjured, but was treated at the scene of the accident for nervous shock.

The cause of the crash is unknown, Allaire Morin said.

A security perimeter has been erected around the scene of the accident pending an investigation.

De Lorimier has been closed between Ste-Catherine St. E. and de Maisonneuve and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
