“No rules were broken”: Morrison on the Chinese warship

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says international law of the sea “has not been breached” when pressed on how the government interprets the Chinese warship skirting Australia’s west coast.

Morrison said that “freedom of navigation” is allowed throughout the world.

“Nobody has suggested that any rule has been violated in relation to the international law of the sea,” he said.

“The international law of the sea has not been violated.”
