Motorcyclist left with ‘life-changing injuries’ to leg after Snake Pass crash

A motorcyclist was left with “life-changing injuries” to his leg after an accident on Snake Pass.

Police are looking for witnesses to the horrific crash, which left the man in his 20s riding the bike with serious leg injuries. The collision occurred at Glossop on the A57 Snake Pass, heading towards Sheffield, shortly after 1pm on Saturday 16 April.

Officers believe the man, who was riding a red Triumph Bonneville motorcycle, suffered life-changing injuries in the crash with a white Ford Focus, and they are eager to understand exactly what happened on the road.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are asking for witnesses to a collision in Glossop which left a motorcyclist seriously injured to come forward and help with investigations. The incident occurred at around 1.05pm on Saturday April 16 on the A57 towards Sheffield and involved a white Ford Focus and a red Triumph Bonneville motorcycle.

“The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was left with serious leg injuries and taken to hospital with what are described as life-changing injuries. Officers are eager to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.” , especially those with either CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the incident.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to contact police by calling 101 or using the Derbyshire Police website quoting reference 22*215975.
