Missing man found in York cafe

A MAN who went missing from his home in Filey on Wednesday night visited Costa Coffee in York on Thursday morning, police have revealed.

Jason Johnson, from Hunmanby, near Filey, was captured by CCTV at a Costa Coffee in York at 8:30am on Thursday.

Extensive searches are now being carried out in York, including in hotels and transport hubs.

British Transport Police and West Yorkshire Police are assisting in the search.

Mr Johnson was last seen by his family leaving his home in Hunmanby on his bicycle at 9.30pm on Wednesday 11 May. He was unable to return home.

Concern for his well-being grows.

Johnson is described as white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, bald, and of a slim build. He is believed to be wearing a blue and black off-road motocross jacket and riding a black mountain bike.

Unlikely to respond if spoken to.

Police say Johnson has links to Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington, and could also have links in Leeds.

Police have released the CCTV footage of Mr Johnson at the Costa cafe in York in the hope it might jog someone’s memory.

“Anyone who has seen Jason or knows where he is now should get in touch without delay,” a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said.
