Manchester United set Dean Henderson price and more transfer rumors

Manchester United have set their asking price for goalkeeper Dean Henderson, according to reports. Speculation about the Academy graduate remains at a fever pitch after the Old Trafford giants prevented him from moving on loan during the January transfer window.

Henderson displaced veteran David de Gea as number one last season. However, playing time has been hard to come by since last summer and the Spaniard has been an ever-present in the Premier League.

De Gea made his 481st appearance for United against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, moving up to 12th on the club’s all-time list. Question marks remain over Henderson.

Saudi-backed Newcastle and Ajax under United manager-elect Erik ten Hag registered interest in the England man during the January window. However, he was forced to sit tight as The Daily Star suggests United value him at around £40m before the next window.

Supposedly, key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom have made it clear that they will not budge on that figure.

Elsewhere, soon-to-be-appointed Ten Hag is going ahead with his plans to sign highly-rated Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni. That’s according to an ESPN report.

United are ready to prioritize central midfield recruits when they get down to business in the market and their desire to get stronger has been underlined by a surprise decision by Nemanja Matic, who is leaving Old Trafford alongside Paul Pogba this summer.

Tchouameni has garnered rave reviews from Pogba himself and would cost around €60-70m. He has won eight caps for France and has been a standout player for AS Monaco this season.
