Rangnick offers information on the reconstruction of Ten Hag

Caretaker boss Ralf Rangnick, who will be on the United bench for the last time this weekend, believes Ten Hag still has a core of players he can build on next season.

The German has been outspoken since taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last year, previously suggesting it could take six years and as many as 10 players to compete with the best in the league.

But a more philosophical Rangnick, who has talks with Ten Hag next week, thinks there’s plenty for the new boss to work with.

“I still firmly believe that there is a core of players who are the best, who are worthwhile and good enough to play for this club and hopefully most of those players will still be here next season. If the board, Erik , the exploration department will help them with all the problems that I can bring to help them.”
