Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says strengthening Medicare is at the heart of Labor’s position to defend health care.
Mr. Albanese said there will be a $220 million fund to strengthen Medicare primary care physician grants as part of a total $1 billion investment to address the primary care physician shortage.
“In too many areas, it’s getting harder and harder to see a doctor,” he said.
“Health is the issue that motivated me —due to my own family experience— to dedicate myself to politics. I know the difference it can make.”
