Robert ‘Bobby’ Crimo III, 22, goes by the moniker Awake the Rapper in his music career. According to his Spotify page, he has more than 16,000 listeners per month and has a net worth of $100,000.

The rap career has taken on chilling relevance in the wake of the shooting.

At one of the rallies Crimo was photographed at in Northbrook, Illinois, the Chicago Tribune described him as “uptight” but said no arrests were made as counter-protesters appeared at the event. The former president was not present at that rally.

The suspect’s IMDb page describes him as the middle child of three children who grew up in an Italian-American family in Highland Park, Illinois.

The suspect’s ties to the community go back to his grandfather, Robert Crimo, who was born in Highland Park in 1929. Robert Crimo died in 2018. His obituary lists the suspect’s parents as Bob Jr. and Denise. Most of the family mentioned in the tribute lives in the Highland Park area.

The family lives on Pleasant Avenue in Highwood, just north of Highland Park. His home is located across the street from Oak Terrace Elementary School.

The profile on that page says that Pesina studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Shanghai and at The Ayurvedic Institute, a New Mexico-based school that teaches the principles and practices of Ayurveda, an alternative medicine teaching.

According to the FBI, Crimo has tattoos showing four tally marks with a line through them on his right cheek, red roses and green leaves on his neck, and a cursive lettering above his left eyebrow that reads, “Wake up.”

The feds said Crimo has ties to the Rockford, DeKalb and Elgin communities in Illinois.

An IMDb page on the suspect describes him as a “Chicago rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and director.”

The most viewed video on the rapper’s YouTube channel is the music video for his song: ‘On My Mind’. The video, which shows the suspect in a classroom.

His music is in the LoFi rap genre, according to his Spotify page. He has released three albums, the first in 2017 titled ‘Messages’, which was followed by 2018’s ‘Observer’ and 2021’s self-titled ‘Awake the Rapper’.
