DUBAI, April 28 / WAM / A delegation from the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority “Dubai Culture” attended the opening of the exhibition of the National Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates at the 59th edition of the “Venice Biennale”, which was held under the title “Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim: between sunrise and sunset” and presented a work A new installation by the Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim.

The Dubai Culture delegation, including Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, Executive Director of Dubai Culture Arts and Letters Sector, Naglaa Post, Rafia Al Suwaidi and Shamma Al Zaffin, visited the main area of ​​the Venice Biennale to see the main room of the exhibition, which was held under the title “Milk of dreams”. And he reviewed the exhibitions of the pavilions of several participating countries.

The delegation also attended the opening of the exhibition organized by “Abu Dhabi Art” under the title “Horizons: Emerging Artists”, at the Palazzo Cavalli Franchitti in Venice, in conjunction with the Venice Biennale 2022, which was opened by His Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, in the presence of three artists from the United Arab Emirates, including Maitha, Abdullah, Hashel Al-Lamki and Christopher Joshua Benton.

The delegation also visited the Peggy Guggenham Museum in Venice and viewed the permanent collection there and the temporary exhibition related to the theme of the Venice Biennale of Surreal Art; Where they saw surrealist artwork from across Europe and the West, including works by Leonara Carrington. The “Dubai Culture” delegation also visited the Doge’s Palace and saw contemporary art installations by the German painter and sculptor Anselm Kiefer.
