Duchess Camilla Has a Giggle Fit After a Prince Charles Guinness Mishap

Later this month, prince charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will take their fifth official trip to Ireland to represent queen elizabeth as she celebrates her Platinum Jubilee. In preparation, the couple took a trip to the Irish Cultural Center in London where they took part in a few traditional activities to mark St. Patrick’s Day this week.

At a Guinness kiosk, Charles was given a lesson in how to properly pull a pint by tipping the glass at the correct angle. According to the Telegraph, he didn’t quite master the technique and grew impatient as he waited for the foam to settle. “How much longer are we going to have to wait for it?” he said.

According to People, he got a bit of white foam on his nose when he took his first sip, and it left Camilla laughing. She “discreetly” mentioned the foam to her husband de ella, and he joined her in chuckling. Laughter fits during light-hearted events are standard for the couple, who have bonded over their shared senses of humor. Recently, a friend of Camilla’s told People that she is good at getting Charles out of his occasional “Eeyore moments.”

Charles went on to learn how to play the Irish bodhrán drum and joined a sing-along of the folk tune “Mountains of Morne,” which Charles mentioned was one of the favorite songs of his grandmother, the Queen Mother. They also spoke to a group of knitters, and Charles admitted that he had once learned to knit but had “failed miserably,” per the Telegraph.

“They tried to teach me,” he said. “It’s quite therapeutic, isn’t it? I’m always amazed how the ladies can watch television and knit at the same time.”
