Displaced resident after predawn fire damaged Mission Hills home

A one-story home was damaged by fire early Sunday in the Mission Hills neighborhood, fire officials said.

Crews from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to a report of the fire in the 1000 block of Hunter Street at 1:37 a.m. Sunday and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the home, according to a report. department incident.

Crews attacked the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby residences. The fire was limited to the rear deck, the interior of the rear of the house, and the attic.

Nobody was hurt. One adult was displaced and did not require assistance from the Red Cross.

Property damage was estimated at $600,000.
