Body found in Mississippi Mills home destroyed by fire

Police and provincial officials continue to investigate a fatal overnight fire in the Mississippi Mills area.

First responders received a call for a house fire around 9:15 p.m.

They found the building engulfed in flames.

The body of one person was found in the house.

Authorities later identified the victim as 52-year-old Laura Leigh Ladouceur.

Two dogs also died in the fire, police said.

Several provincial police squads, along with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the coroner, continue to investigate.
