An asteroid larger than the Empire State Building is predicted to skim past Earth on Sunday.
The US space agency Nasa expects asteroid 388945 (2008 TZ3) to pass by Earth around 5:18 pm ET and 9:18 pm GMT.
The giant space rock is predicted to be up to 1,608 feet wide. By comparison, the Empire State Building in New York is 1,454 feet tall.
Although asteroid 388945 should pass us from a distance of about 3.5 million miles, it is still considered a possible threat.
If an asteroid comes within 4.65 million miles of our planet and exceeds a certain size, cautious space agencies consider it “potentially dangerous.”
